Beckley blaze claims woman’s life
BECKLEY, W.Va. — An elderly woman died in a Tuesday morning fire in Beckley.
According to the state Fire Marshal’s Office, firefighters responded to a fire in the 200 block of Larew Avenue at around 2 a.m.
Firefighters recovered the body of an 80-year-old woman.
Investigators said it appears the cause of the blaze was accidental but their investigation is ongoing.
There were smoke alarms found inside the house but investigators aren’t sure if they were working.
