Two people in custody after eight-hour long stand-off

Two people are in custody after an eight-hour negotiation with police.

Fayetteville police’s Violent Crime Apprehension Team (VCAT) received information about a suspect wanted in connection to a string of robberies.

The suspect barricaded himself inside a home on the 2500 block of Previs Drive Tuesday night in Fayetteville.

Police arrived on scene at approximately 3:15 p.m. The suspect barricaded himself inside of the residence and investigators later discovered a second female suspect inside the home.

The Crisis Negotiation Team and Emergency Response Team began an eight-hour negotiation with the suspects.

Both suspects were arrested and transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for evaluation. They will later be sent to Cumberland County Jail.
